from a seed stage with $25M in funding to a series b with $50M

i know this newsletter is about hiring, interviewing and my 2 cents on the market. something for candidates and hiring managers to each pull value from as they navigate headcount and job hunting.

that being said the ultimate value i bring to the table is connecting top talent with top startups and right now the roles i’m working on are all fairly insane.

tons of funding from top tier vcs, going to top tier founders building… you guessed it… top tier products. here are the 9 active roles i’m focusing on as we head into q4

sales roles (all onsite in sf 3-5 days a week)

  • founding ae @ seed stage with $25m in funding

    • selling to ecommerce brands with a $30-50k acv

    • $2m arr, 100% founder led, not slowing down

    • first gtm hire, ideally a former founding ae

    • hiring 2-3 by the end of q4

    • $125-150k base, 2x for total comp

  • founding ae @ seed stage with $4m in funding

    • selling to marketing leaders

    • $1m in arr, 100% founder led sales

    • first gtm hire, need to be a mid market pro

    • $125-150k base, 2x for total comp

  • enterprise ae @ series a with $30m in funding

    • selling to revenue leaders, mostly cro

    • $10m in arr, less than 5 aes

    • need a true ent hunter

    • martech exp. ideal

    • $300-350k ote

  • mid market ae @ series b with $50m in funding

    • selling to engineering leaders, (director, vp, cto)

    • $18m in arr, with 7 aes, all 100%+ to quota

    • exp. selling to sub 1,000 emp orgs crutial

    • exp. selling to a technical buyer is key

    • $250k ote on a 50/50 split

  • mid market ae @ series a with $23m in funding

    • selling to product, product marketing and sales teams

    • $5m+ in arr and 20k+ teams using their product

    • 3 aes currently in seat, need to hire 1 or 2 more

    • exp. selling a plg/self serve product/tool

    • $230k ote + equity

marketing roles (all onsite in sf 2-5 days a week)

  • head of demand gen @ series a with $30m in funding

    • marketing to revenue leaders

    • $10m in arr, just 2 people in marketing

    • need a true dg/growth content pro

    • a been there done that type

    • can grow a team quick

    • $250k +/-, + equity

  • head of product marketing @ series a with $23m in fudning

    • tool is built for product marketers so you are the audience

    • 1 content marketer in seat, this role reports to the ceo

    • exp. marketing a plg/self serve product/tool

    • likely more of a sr. manager that wants a shot to run things

support roles (all onsite in sf 3 days a week)

  • founding csm/am @ seed stage with $25m in funding

    • onboard ecommerce brands and help them land/expand

    • $2m arr, 100% founder led, not slowing down

    • lots of implementation/onboarding

    • no process in place

    • 50+ customers

  • founding csm @ series a with $23m in funding

    • working with product, product marketing and sales teams

    • focus on mid market accounts, since they’re heavy self serve

    • 20k+ teams using their product, so can’t onboard smb

    • 3 aes currently in seat, need to hire a csm by eoy

    • exp. with a high volume plg/self serve product
